10 Werewolf Faction Improvements 🐺 Fixing Curse of Strahd's Weakest Chapter - D&D 5e
Get all my notes for this video in my article: https://www.flutesloot.com/werewolf-den-curse-of-strahd-dm-guide-dnd-5e/?utm_source=youtube The Werewolf Den is disappointingly basic as written, but there are heaps of prompts for motivated DMs to develop. The Werewolf Den has werewolf NPCs, intrigue between Emil and Kiril, a tie to Castle Ravenloft, child violence, and a Mother Night shrine with impressive (though cursed) loot. I will provide you with tools to make the werewolves more interesting while seamlessly introducing them into your campaign. Curse of Strahd, as written, is full of content that enables us as DMs to extrapolate and build upon it, so I intend to do that. I won’t reinvent the wheel; I’ll add to what the module has given us. This video should help you see how the werewolves can fit into the overall narrative of the campaign, enhance any themes you’re exploring, and give you another settlement of sorts to explore in the power struggles and horrors of Barovia. I’ll fill gaps and suggest several new concepts to enhance what’s already in the book. #curseofstrahd #dnd5e #dnd ⏰Time Stamps: 00:00 Why I'm highlighting the Werewolf Den 01:07 Origins of Barovian werewolves 03:02 Why werewolves travel through the mists 04:30 Narrate shapeshifting + werewolf mechanics 06:58 Pack politics & recruitment 10:19 Society and violence 12:16 Integrating werewolves in the story 14:55 Hunting & food 17:15 Shrine of Mother Night 20:47 Roleplaying devotion to Mother Night 22:04 Homebrew and intrigue 22:57 Last idea for you
